ERP, inventory, accounting & connected commerce

Shopify integrations that keep the work moving.

An order on the website should not create a chain of spreadsheets behind it. We connect Shopify with product, stock, purchasing and despatch systems. Our experience includes building listing systems, forecasting tools and scanning apps, so we understand the daily work on both sides of the connection.

The starting point

Agree the rules before connecting the systems.

The difficult part of an integration is often the business process. Which system owns a stock figure? What happens to a changed order? Who investigates a failed update? We work through those questions with your team before choosing an existing connector, a custom app or a supported integration platform.

Map the data and the daily work

Understand the systems, records and exceptions that make up the process.

Review how products, customers, orders and inventory are created and changed today. Agree a source of truth for each important field and identify the manual work the integration should remove. Include cancellations, refunds, returns and partial fulfilments where they apply, rather than designing only for a straightforward new order. That can include product updates from a listing system, incoming stock recorded by a goods-in scanning app, or orders passed to despatch software and goods-out scanning.

Choose a maintainable connection

Compare existing tools and custom development against the actual requirements.

Review supported APIs, permissions, data volumes and the capabilities of any proposed connector. Account for licence costs, hosting and the effort of maintaining the setup. Define the timing of updates and any acceptable delay, so a periodic synchronisation is not mistaken for an instant connection. Where subscription costs are high or the workflow is a poor fit, we can build a custom app to handle the required functions and connections, then compare its ongoing cost with the existing setup.

Build and test the information flow

Validate the mapping and the behaviour when records are incomplete or repeated.

Use representative data to check field formats, identifiers and updates in both directions where required. Test retry behaviour and make sure repeated messages do not create duplicate business records. Review access controls and keep operational logs useful without collecting more customer information than the task needs.

Make failures visible and manageable

Give the team a clear way to monitor, reconcile and support the integration.

Agree alerts, ownership and a method for checking that the systems match. Document how to investigate a failed record and recover safely. Roll out in a controlled sequence, then review the first live transactions with the people using the systems so the connection works in everyday operations.

Four stages. Clear accountability.

From finding the issue
to putting it right.

Agree the work, carry it through and check the result. Each stage has a clear purpose.

01

Understand

Get to know the business, review the detail and find the underlying issues.

02

Prioritise

Agree the scope, commercial priorities and the order of work.

03

Implement

Make the changes, check the detail and put the work into use.

04

Review

Look at what changed and agree the next practical improvement.

Shopify Integrations

Your questions.
Clear answers.

Which systems can you connect to Shopify?

We assess ERP, inventory, warehouse, accounting, CRM, product information and other business systems against their available interfaces. The right approach depends on the specific product, version, permissions and data you need to exchange.

Do we need a custom integration?

Not always. A maintained connector may meet the requirement with less work. We compare its coverage, exception handling and running cost with a custom approach before recommending how to proceed.

Will stock and orders update in real time?

That depends on the systems and the chosen method. Some events can trigger updates quickly; other processes run on a schedule or face API limits. We agree the expected delay and how to detect missed or failed updates.

Can you repair an existing integration?

Yes. We can review the current mapping, logs and operational problems, then recommend repairs or a replacement. Access to the existing configuration and documentation helps establish what can be reused safely.
